SCENARIO

T1: - Good afternoon! We are glad to see you here! Today we have prepared for you a competition. It is called "The Wise and the Wisest”. This competition will show your knowledge of English. We have prepared 4 tasks for you. You can be given some points for each task.

T2: - First we would like to divide you into two teams. One representative from each team will draw a card and choose the name of the team. So we already have two teams. The 1^st team is called GREEN and the 2^nd is RED.

T3: - So, let’s begin our quiz.

TASK # 1. Crossword.

T1: - You are to guess the English proverbs. On the blackboard you can see the numbers.

T2: - Each number corresponds to the letter of the ABC. Ex.: 1 - A, 2 - B, etc.

T3: - Let’s see, which team will be the first. You have 10 minutes for this task. You will get a point, if you name the proverb in the right way.

TASK # 2. Dices.

T2: - From these dices you should make up as many sentences as you can. Write down the sentences into your sheet of paper. You have 10 minutes for this task.

T3: - Your time is up. Give me your papers with the sentences. Let me see how many sentences you managed to write. You can get 1 point for each correct sentence.

T1: - The GREEN group has … points. The RED group has … points.

TASK # 3. Chainword.

T2: - Now, please, guess the chainword. You are to fill in the antonyms of the following words: late, no, big, more, buy, short, bad, up, far, poor, low, cold, thin. And for this task you have 10 minutes.

     T3: - For each right word you will get a point.

     T1: - The time is over. The GREEN group has … points and the RED group has … points.

TASK # 4. Make it logical.

T2: - Now you will listen to the text. The sentences of the text are not in the right order. You are to put the sentences into the right order.

Text: It saved me. I went alone. Once I went to the forest for a walk with my dog. But the dog knew the way home very well. Only my dog was with me. Suddenly I lost my way. I was afraid.

T3: - Be very attentive! You have 10 minutes for this task.

      T1: - The time is up! Let me listen to your texts. The GREEN group has … points and the RED group has … points.

       T2: - It was the last task of the quiz. Now we shall see how many points each group has.

       T3: - The … group is the winner. You get the main prize. But you have all worked very good today. And all of you will get good marks.
